Latest Microsoft Dynamics GP Update Brings Enhanced Payables 1099 Form Printing

We are thrilled to inform you that with the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2023 Year-End Release, buying 1099 forms is now a thing of the past. All Payables 1099 forms, including the 1099-NEC introduced in the 2022 Year-End Release, can now be printed with lines directly in GP. This update, part of the 18.6 release, marks a significant enhancement in the printing of Payables 1099 forms and has been eagerly anticipated by our user community.

Previously, Microsoft Dynamics GP introduced the capability to print the 1099-NEC form with boxes and lines on blank paper, similar to the Payroll W-2’s, in the 2022 Year-End Release. Due to strong customer feedback, this feature has been expanded to include all types of Payables 1099 forms in the 2023 Year-End Release.

The hassle of spending hours adjusting printer settings and squandering pre-printed forms for minor corrections is now a thing of the past. This update is a response to the real challenges faced by users like you, and we are thrilled to see these improvements.

Now, with version 18.6, all Payables 1099 forms – including Miscellaneous, Dividend, and Interest – can be printed on blank paper. This feature is particularly useful for reprinting forms from previous years for vendors or for verifying 1099 information before submissions. The ease of reviewing information on pre-printed forms is a notable improvement.

Please be aware of a change in the 2022 Year-End form specifications by the IRS: the “For calendar year” field will now appear blank. Unlike previous versions where this field was auto-filled, the year will now be sourced from the “1099 Year” field in the Print 1099 window.

To utilize this feature, select the “One Wide with Box” option in the 1099 Print window. Here’s an example using the Miscellaneous form:

We believe this update will streamline your year-end processing and enhance your overall experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP.
